13 Biology 2

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Helen Dunham.

This course is for those students who struggle with the more abstract concepts in Biology. One less standard is covered over the year when compared with 13BI1. This allows more time to be spent on the existing standards. This course is UE approved

Content covered in the course includes:

Externals (two)

Animal and plant behaviour; 

Evidence supporting the theory of Human Evolution;

Internals (2)

The body system of blood glucose and Diabetes; 

A written report on a socio-scientific issue of your choice.


Prerequisites

From 12BI1 or 12BI2: At least ‘Achieved’ in AS91157 L2 Genetic Variation and Achieved in ONE other L2 Biology External Achievement Standard.

OR HoD approval
