13 Chemistry 2
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Alayna Pulham.
This course is for those students who found Level 2 Chemistry difficult, yet wish to continue in the subject. You may have taken 12CM2 or 12CM1 to select this course. This course still contains 2 of the same internals and 2 of the same internals as the 13CM1 course but you have more time in class to work on each standard and therefore allows you to have a deeper understanding of the content.
One less external standard is covered over the year when compared with 13CM1. This allows more time to be spent on the other two standards over the year to allow you longer to practise and develop your understanding. Taking this course will mean you have additional time in the NCEA exams to work on your two papers as you get 3 hours to complete 2 standards.
Prerequisites
Students should have gained at least two ‘Achieved’ grades in the External Achievement standards from the Level 2 Chemistry (either 12CM1 or 12CM2).
