Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Carmela Hughes.
Year 10 is designed to develop skills in performance and creativity. This course is beginner friendly and is designed to cater to all skill levels. As part of the course, you'll do:
Devising
Inspired by a video game, you'll create your own play based in the world of the game - even designing the costumes.
Commedia dell'arte
A fun theatre-form that uses physical comedy, pranks, and slapstick to bring iconic characters to life.
Drama Techniques
Perform a scene from a famous play - practicing new accents and learning how to play a character properly.
Class Production
The class will perform a short play to an invited audience of their whānau at the end of the year.
Class trip
Availability depending, the students can go on an optional trip to see a professional production.
