Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Bryn Corkery.

Prerequisites

Preference is given to students who completed at least 1 semester of year 10 Art or 10 Photography and Design over those who have not.

Due to resourcing, spaces may be limited.

OR HoD approval



 



Students will work on an individual interpretation of a given theme.
Students will study a range of artist models and apply the knowledge skills and techniques learnt into their own work.
Students will use common processes to develop work in more than one field of practice.

Students will:
•Develop original artworks using a range of media.
•Learn about photography, design and moving image conventions.
•Understand technical processes involved in making digital art
•Use professional software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Indesign
•Use Cloud services to save and share work

Qualifications
In this course students will do one new 5 credit NCEA internal Assessment and 3 unique MAGS standards.
NCEA - A.S. 91913 v3 Visual Arts 1.2 - Produce resolved artwork appropriate to established art making conventions
MAGS Certificate - Use drawing conventions to develop work in multiple fields of practice (Design, Photography, Moving Image)
MAGS Certificate- Explore Visual Arts processes and conventions to inform own art making
MAGS Certificate- Demonstrate an understanding of Digital Processes
