Course Description

Prerequisites

22 credits from 12ENE or 18 credits from 12EN1 English; 

All assessments must be achieved at Merit or Excellence level, with at least two externals at Excellence level.

Students will:

  • Develop their enjoyment and understanding of literature and film through reading and viewing a range of texts including a play by Shakespeare
  • Develop their knowledge and understanding of the literary, social and cultural contexts of texts through directed and independent wide reading of literature and literary criticism
  • Present their knowledge and understanding of literature through writing, and presentations
  • Sitting the Scholarship English exam is compulsory for students enrolled in this course

This course is designed for students with a track record of exceptional achievement in English and leads to tertiary study
