It is recommended that students have an entry level DSLR camera for their own use.

Two internal assessments are done during the first two terms, and are worth 4 credits each. These internals help underpin your work for the externally assessed folio.
•The main focus for this course is the production of a three panel folio worth 14 credits. This will be sent to Wellington and assessed externally at the end of the year. All students are expected to complete this.
•Success at Level 3 Photography requires independent thinking and a higher level of individual input than previous years. There are strict assessment criteria you must meet and your teacher will guide you through this. You will negotiate with your teacher what your individual programme and options will be.
•The department does have DSLR cameras that can be borrowed by students. However, personal cameras with a external flash connection are recommended.
•Scholarship in Photography can be done in this subject alongside the normal course but requires a consistent level of commitment.
